A lot of expensive gears such as a good quality gimbal will be needed for camera videography and it is unlikely that a teenager student will invest in them after the camp.
Nowadays, smartphones are as good as cameras in terms of videography, and no external gears are required for creating cinematic videos or documentary/ social media/ education type of contents.
If camera equipment is provided, this class would have been over $3000/ person.
Yes absolutely! We are teaching the art of videography with a smartphone. All the techniques are the same across different models and platforms.
However, the Cinematic Mode is only available in certain Iphone models.
Only a smartphone is needed for this class, so campers will use their own Iphones/ Androids.
Accessories such as tripods and power banks will be provided ruing the class.
The Capcut App is needed for editing on the smartphone.
The app has a lot of great features and is free.

Smartphone videography is more than just using a smartphone to randomly film something.
One needs to direct the scene, plan the shoot and understand the camera angles and movement.
This class is perfect for someone who wants to learn the essentials in videography using a smartphone: the camera angles & movement, the composition, lighting, directing, basic settings (frame rate & resolution).
Basic and special effects editing skills in the Capcut App will also be taught.
A lot of gears will be needed when you film with a camera. For instance, you need to invest in a gimble, which can be very expensive.
Smartphones are capable of filming high quality videos with very little investment. Most smartphone footages are of high quality even without a gimble.
Furthermore, there are free editing apps that allow one to edit the clips effortlessly.
As the creative side of videography is more important, this camp will help your kids create amazing contents of different kinds in just a week.
