SSD

What is a SSD?

A SSD (Solid State Drive) is an external storage that can connect to a computer via a USBC cable (usually comes with the SSD).

As the storage on a computer is limited, you'll need a SSD to store the large files and photos externally.

Storage sizes of SSD

A SSD usually comes with different storage sizes and can be purchased on Amazon.

1TB (recommended for the Campers)

2TB (more storage)

4TB

It's just like a thumb Drive

Usually, the SSD can be used directly on the computer without the need of formatting, just like a thumb drive.

If you have purchased a SSD for the Teen Camp, please plug it in your computer and make sure it works properly.

Common Questions.

1) My computer does not have USBC but only USB. What can I do?

Answer: Purchase a USB USB-C Adaptor on Amazon

2) What's the difference between an external hard drive and a SSD? Can I purchase an external hard drive instead?

Answer: External Hard Drives are not recommended.

While they are both external storage devices, external hard drives can get damaged easily when being frequently carried around, even from home to work. They are also heavier and slower in saving the data.

We'll recommend using a SSD instead of an External Hard Drive

3) Any recommendations for the SSD brands?

Most reliable: Samsung

Great deal: SanDisk

Data ruiner: Crucial (NOT RECOMMEDED)
